Terms and Conditions

1. ELIGIBILITY, REGISTRATION AND PROFILE

1.1 To WWOOF in Thailand you must be a member of WWOOF Thailand and over 18 years old. By registering to use our Services, you represent that you are over 18. FAMILIES are welcome! Families with children are welcome. Each adult over 18 years of age needs to have their own membership as above, this is for safety and insurance reasons. All children (under 18) WWOOF for free. We have a list of hosts that welcome families. Email us for this list and our “tips” on traveling as a family in Thailand with children.

1.2 In order to WWOOF in Thailand you must be a member of WWOOF Thailand, you will need to register and pay the fee (45 euros) which is for ONE YEAR membership. This gives you time to pre-plan your trip, review hosts in different areas and ask questions of different hosts and finally find a host of your choice. Use the country search map for hosts to see all hosts and locations on one map currently over 135. Please provide current information, protect your password, you are  responsible for all activities on your account.

1.3 VISA’s: Please be aware that upon arrival in Thailand (by air) you will receive a 4 week Tourist Visa. Short term WWOOFing is viewed as Eco-tourism for short period’s. ie: (4 weeks or less). If you wish to WWOOF longer than this 4 weeks, you may wish to consider getting a visa before you leave from the local Thai embassy. These can be had for 60 – 90 day periods and can be renewed for additional 30 days. For details see your local Thai Embassy website. click here http://www.embassy-worldwide.com/country/thailand/
For longer periods you may need a work visa, or an education visa, which costs about $300 usd, takes a month or more to get  and requires a letter from an employer, which WWOOF hosts do NOT supply since WWOOFing is an cultural exchange volunteer program. If you are looking for longer term internships then go to our affiliate www.PermacultureInstituteThailand.org for these. You agree we may send you information from time to time about courses we may offer, hosts who need volunteers urgently or local important travel information. We do not share your information with anyone.

2. INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER MEMBERS

2.1 WWOOF’s function is to supplying the opportunity to make a difference, and contact information to hosts. You are responsible for your own interactions with Hosts and other WWOOFers. We reserve the right,  to cancel membership due to inappropriate interactions between you and other members of our Services.

2.2 Identity Verification. We confirm each Hosts identity and try and visit each host, we take safety very seriously. Most hosts are families and have been WWOOF hosts for years. We do NOT however confirm each volunteer member’s identity. You are solely responsible for determining the identity and suitability of WWOOF volunteer members with whom you may interact through our Services. WWOOF Thailand does not represent or warrant that our tools are sufficient to determine whether it is appropriate for you to interact with another member. Further, we do not endorse any persons who use or register for our Services. We do not investigate or verify any member’s reputation, conduct, morality, criminal background, or any information members may submit to the Services. We encourage you to take precautions when interacting with other volunteer members, particularly when meeting a stranger in person for the first time.

2.3 Release. Because our Services are merely a platform, in the event that you have a dispute with one or more members, you release us (and our officers, directors, members, employees, agents and affiliates) from claims, demands and damages (actual and consequential) of every kind and nature, known and unknown, suspected and unsuspected, disclosed and undisclosed, arising out of or in any way connected with such disputes.

3. MEMBER CONDUCT AND CONTENT

3.1 The WWOOF Thailand website includes interactive areas such as the Forum where you or other members can create, post or store content, messages, materials, data, information, photos, or other items or materials on the Services (collectively, “Member Content”). You are solely responsible for your use and posting in the interactive areas and agree that your inappropriate posting in these areas will result in being denied access.

3.2 Member Content Restrictions. You are solely responsible for any Member Content that you submit, post or transmit via WWOOF Thailand Service. By use, you agree not to post, upload to, transmit, distribute, store, create or otherwise publish through the Service, Member Content that:

(a) is unlawful, libelous, defamatory, harassing, threatening, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, or that would otherwise create liability or violate any local, state, national or international laws;

(b) contains any sexually explicit images or content or nudity or is obscene or pornographic in nature;

(c) maybe deemed disparaging by ethnic group, racial group, sexual or religious group by stereotypical depiction deemed as abusive or inflammatory;

(d) depicts the use of illegal drugs;

(e) contains offensive language, images objectionable material as violence.

(g) contains any unsolicited material and advertising, promotes political parties or contains private or personal information about other parties, without their written consent.

(i) contains viruses, corrupted data or other harmful, disruptive or destructive files viruses, cancel bots, Trojan horses, harmful code, flood pings, denial-of-service attacks, packet or IP spoofing, forged routing or electronic mail address information or similar methods or technology;

(j) may infringe any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright or other intellectual or proprietary right of any party. By posting Member Content, you represent and warrant that you have the lawful right to distribute and reproduce such Member Content; or any third party.

We may, in our sole discretion, edit, remove or delete any Member Content without notice. If you become aware of Member Content that violates these Terms, you may report it.

3.2 Member Conduct. By accessing or using the Services, you agree to act responsibly, exercise good judgment and agree not to:

(a) use the Services in violation of any applicable law or regulation, including promoting or encouraging any illegal activity;

(b) infringe the rights of any third party, including without limitation, intellectual property, privacy, publicity or contractual rights;

(c) use the Services in any manner that could interfere with, disrupt, negatively affect or inhibit other members from fully enjoying the Services or that could damage, disable, overburden or impair the functioning of the Services in any manner;

(d) use our Services in connection with the distribution of spam (which we define as unsolicited bulk e-mail or any other unsolicited messages of a commercial, religious, romantic or political or other nature not within the intended purposes of the Services);

(e) stalk, intimidate, threaten or otherwise harass or cause discomfort to any other member of our Services;

(f) collect or store any information about any other member other than as permitted on our Services;

(g) use our Services for any commercial purpose whatsoever, unless with prior written consent from WWOOF Thailand;

(h) impersonate any person or entity, or falsify or otherwise misrepresent yourself or your affiliation with any person or entity, whether by providing or omitting to provide information;

(i) circumvent or attempt to defeat any security or verification measure relating to use of the Services;

(j) assist any third party in doing any of the foregoing.

4. TERMINATION

We may, in our discretion and without liability (refund), with or without cause or without prior notice and at any time: (a) terminate your membership, and access to our Service, (b) deactivate and/or delete your account and all related information and files in such account and/or (c) bar your access to any of such files or Services for breach of these terms.

5. REPORTING MISCONDUCT

If you interact with anyone through our Services who you feel is acting or has acted inappropriately, including but not limited to offensive, violent or sexually inappropriate behavior, who steals from you or engages in any other disturbing conduct, we strongly encourage you to immediately report such person to the appropriate authorities and to us by contacting us. Please note that although we encourage you to report misconduct, we are not responsible or liable for our members’ actions and we are not obligated to take any action.
